8. What is E-mail, blogs? Explain with advantages and disadvantages?

Email stands for electronic mail. It is one of the most popular services of the internet. It is a technology of ICT to exchange digital messages between sender and receiver. An email is a letter that is sent over a computer network instead of being sent through the post. You can attach documents and photos to emails, just like you can include a photo or a document with a letter.  Just bcoz of launching of android phones in 2009 in India and Digital India concept in 2015 it become more and more popular than it has been and majority of people unaware of Email and ICT technology have initiated using the email facility other ICT technologies.

Advantages of Email:

·      Emails are delivered in an instant when compared to traditional mailing post.

·      Emails can be sent and received from any internet enabled computing device, to anyone and anywhere in the world.

·      The cost of sending an email is cheaper, than traditional mail system.

·      Emails can be sent to an individual or several persons or in group at once.

·      It keeps the record of all the conversations you have done for your future reference unless you delete.

·   People can have remote access to email hence independent of specific location and can    respond as per their convenient time.

·      One can send confidential information through Email in encrypted form.

·   Email are not only limited to send or receive messages but photos, videos etc can be sent easilyand not need to pay extra charge as in postal mail.

·      Emailing saves paper and printing costs

·      Emails help in saving environment.

Disadvantages of Email:

Despite of having lots of advantages there are certain disadvantages of Email. They are

·      Internet connection is must to have an access to email.

·     Viruses or harmful programs/file are easily spread through email attachments which may        harm your system.

·     Phishing attack is generally done through email. (Sending an email to a user on behalf of        organization or company or bank for job, banking facility, free credit card etc. to get the user information, such as personal information and bank account numbers on a fraud website. The details will then be used for make cyber crime or theft.)

·     A small mistake can led the email to the wrong person accidentally, potentially leaking            confidential data and sensitive business information.

·      Spam emails can be sent which can clutter your inbox.

Blog:

Blogs an abbreviation for web logs are personal online journals where the owner (blogger) will type in their opinion or observations on some topic (e.g. subject materials, articles related emerging topics, new happening,  provide links to certain relevant websites for jobs and other relevant information which is beneficial for the viewers.

Starting a new blog does not require any computer professionalism. Blogs can be created with simple steps. It is free and one can start on trial or learning basic. One can write anything in the blog but don’t post any statement that harms community or any illegal statement otherwise considered as an illegal offence and legal action will be taken.

Advantages of Blogs:

Become your boss

Unlike any other job, if you are blogger, you don’t need to work on fixed time. You can work at your convenient time and work with your ease. As you are your boss, no one will order you. You are free to do anything.

More Energy

If are a full time blogger, you will have more energy to work for yourself and spend more time to update the content of your blog and you can earn more by writing something productive on your bog. Whereas if are employed by other employer, your whole energy is wasted and when you come home, you cannot spend time to write for your blog.

Increase the clients and blog revenue

If you a good blogger and the content you share are productive more and more people will start using your blogs and as the client increases the there will be increment in the blog revenue. If you are lucky, you can get more and more work. You can earn two or three times more than your day job salary.

One can become a good writer:

One you start writing something in the blog and if you get good response then you give more and more efforts to write the content so that people find the content written is both fascinating and significant. This will increase your ability of converting your opinion into good writing.

Good Activity

There are basically two kinds of bloggers, part time bloggers and full-time. As per convenience one may opt. There are lots of people who simply start a blog as they find it to be a fun and interesting while other who wants to do some constructive or productive spends lots of time for their blog instead of wasting expensive time which will never come back again.

Disadvantages of Blog:

Getting away from real world

Spending too much time in the world of the internet, away from other people, friend and relatives might cause you to be cut off from real world and get wrapped up in your own little world.

No regular income like salary

One major disadvantage about blogging is that there is no fixed and steady income you do, so the more work you do the better it is for you. So start blog as a part time and do not take it as a primary means of earning.

Requires a lot of hard work

Updating or for the new post on your blog requires a more time and hard work and this will cause many health hazards also.
